Executive Breakfast: “Current Economic Trends and Impact on the Asset Management Industry”

Executive Breakfast Speaker Mr. Hiroki Wiesheu (President and CEO, Metzler Asset Management Japan Ltd.).

War, Inflation, Interest Rates, Energy Crisis, De-Risking and De-Carbonization are just a few trends influencing the current financial markets. Mr. Hiroki Wiesheu, President and CEO of Metzler Asset Management (Japan) Ltd., will decipher these trends and how they influence investment behavior of asset owners. Founded in 1674, Bankhaus Metzler is the oldest German bank in continued family ownership with a rich history in Germany as well as in Japan. Following Mr. Wiesheu’s keynote speech, participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session. Breakfast will be served at the event.

Biography of the Keynote Speaker:

Mr. Hiroki Wiesheu works as President and CEO of Metzler Asset Management (Japan) Ltd since 2021. Mr. Wiesheu joined Metzler in 2018. Prior to joining Metzler, he worked from 2015 to 2018 at Rothschild & Co. in Frankfurt, Germany, in the Global Financial Advisory department, most recently as Vice President where he advised companies on M&A transactions and equity transactions such as IPOs and capital increases. Before that, he worked for Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt from 2012 to 2015 where he completed a trainee program before working as an Associate in the Equity Capital Markets team. During his time at Rothschild and Commerzbank, he worked on ca. 30 completed M&A and equity market transactions worth over USD 45 bn. From 2007 to 2012, he studied business administration at the University of Mannheim in Germany, including a semester abroad at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, and completed his Master of Science. During his studies, he did internships in Japan, USA, UK and Germany at companies such as Morgan Stanley, Russell Investments, Ernst and Young and private equity firm Pacific Corporate Group. Mr. Wiesheu was a member of the 2007 election campaign team of Japan’s former Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda. During his High School years Mr. Wiesheu spend a year abroad in the US at Carmel High School in Indiana. Mr. Wiesheu is trilingual and speaks German, English and Japanese fluently.
