We are pleased to invite you to our March Luncheon with Dr. Philipp Aeby, CEO & Co-Founder of RepRisk AG, who will deliver a speech titled “The Evolution of ESG: Transparency Paves the Road Ahead”.

The regulatory environment for ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investing is rapidly advancing, and corporate reporting is at an all-time high. But while both regulation and reporting are essential in assessing a company’s ESG practices and supporting ESG investment decisions, neither one is equivalent to corporate transparency.
The world’s top companies continue to find it challenging to go beyond long-term net-zero commitments and qualitative descriptions of positive initiatives in their sustainability reporting and need help identifying their net impact on people and the planet.
In this presentation, Dr. Philipp Aeby, CEO & Co-Founder of RepRisk, will provide insights into how risk-focused ESG data that goes beyond company-self reporting is essential in addressing sustainability risks in operations and across supply chains, from human rights violations to biodiversity loss. Flagging ESG risks helps businesses to get ahead to address business performance, supports responsible business conduct, and helps direct investments toward sustainable economic activities.
This session will provide a brief history of ESG and ESG data, outline the latest discourse around double materiality, highlight the importance of transparency and the FSA’s new code of conduct, and discuss solutions addressing responsible business conduct.

Biography of the Speaker:

Dr. Philipp Aeby is the CEO and co-founder of RepRisk. He is an expert in business conduct risk management, with a special interest in machine learning. Before joining RepRisk in 2006, Dr. Aeby served in various managerial positions across Europe at Amgen, a global biopharmaceutical firm, and worked on a broad range of international assignments with the Boston Consulting Group. He started his career as a visiting scientist at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture in Colombia. Dr. Aeby holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Physics and a Master’s degree in Climatology and Hydrology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland, where he earned the ETH Medal for outstanding research that involved applying neural networks to pattern recognition.
