Swiss Young Professionals gather in Kobe

Tokyo (SCCIJ) – Following the example of the Kanto-edition, the 5th Swiss Young Professional Gathering in Kansai was held at the Nescafé Sannomiya in Kobe. On April 14, approximately thirty Swiss and friends of Switzerland took the opportunity to meet and exchange opinions while enjoying coffee specialties, cocktails and snacks. The event was held in collaboration with the Honorary Consulate General of Switzerland in Osaka and the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan.

The gathering was opened by Ms. Melanie Kohli, Executive Officer of the Corporate Affairs Group at Nestlé and a member of the Executive Board of the SCCIJ. In her welcome speech, she introduced the Nescafé concept and stressed the importance of Japan for the coffee business of Nestlé.
Next, Honorary Consul General of Switzerland and SCCIJ Vice-President Kansai Mr. Dieter Sommerhalder addressed the participants, wishing them an enjoyable evening and that the connections made would deepen in the future.

Unlike the Swiss Young Professional Gatherings in Tokyo, the main Swiss national language heard in Kobe was French. Nevertheless, lively discussions built the foundation for new friendships and proved once again that the connection to Switzerland is not forgotten even in far-off Japan. The relaxed atmosphere and the diverse backgrounds of participants contributed to the success of the event.
