Swiss Comet Group collaborates with Nagoya Electric Works

Tokyo (SCCIJ) – Yxlon International, a division of the Swiss Comet Group, has announced a collaboration with the Japanese company Nagoya Electric Works (NEW). The collaboration includes the development and distribution of specialized X-ray systems for the semiconductor industry. Yxlon International is already represented in Japan by its own distribution center in Yokohama.

First products launched

Yxlon and NEW are leaders in advanced Electronics X-ray technology. Yxlon brings its expertise in high-resolution X-ray tubes, image analysis, plus an excellent global sales and support network into the partnership. NEW is expert in automated X-ray inspection systems, offering accurate manipulation, extremely precise measurements and advanced software. The first products coming out of this collaboration were launched at the trade fair Semicon China in Shanghai March 20-22, 2019.

Established players

Yxlon International designs and produces radioscopic and Computed Tomography (CT) inspection systems for a broad variety of industrial applications and fields, whether in the aviation and aerospace, automotive, or electronics industry. Its customers are among the largest manufacturers in the world.

Its roots go back to the discovery of the X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen in 1895 and the construction of the first X-ray tube by Carl Heinrich Florenz Müller in Hamburg in 1896. It was founded in 1998 by the merger of Philips Industrial X-Ray and the Danish Andrex A.S., and in 2007 became a member of the Swiss Comet Group. Its branch in Yokohama functions as distribution center for its CT and X-ray systems and serves customers throughout Southeast Asia.

NEW is a well-known manufacturer of inspection systems for the Semiconductor and Surface Mount Technology industry. It has built up a reputation for its advanced Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Automated X-Ray Inspection (AXI) systems. In addition, it offers a wide portfolio of products and services for traffic management. NEW is based in Nagoya.
