Many consulate tasks

The Honorary Consul post will provide support for Swiss citizens, strengthen Switzerland’s presence in this dynamic region, and foster exchanges in the field of politics, economics, science, education, culture, and sport.

The Honorary Consulate will focus in particular on tasks related to export and investment promotion as well as education, research, and innovation. In recent years, Fukuoka has developed into an important center for start-ups and entrepreneurship, with potential for Switzerland as well.

Other tasks of the Honorary Consulate will include support for Swiss citizens in need, support in cases of consular protection / social assistance, life certificates for Old Age Pensions, support for the Embassy in crises, support for preparations for official visits from Switzerland and the Embassy and development of a local network.

“It is an honor to announce the start of my four-year mission as the first Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Fukuoka. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to assist the Swiss community based in Kyushu and Okinawa, to contribute to deepening the ties of friendship between South-Western Japan and Switzerland and create new bridges between our regions,” Ms. Sambuc Bloise said in a statement published on LinkedIn.
