Paralliance: Tokyo 2020 Paralympics 1 Year to Go! – A Discussion with the International Paralympic Committee

The Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (SCCIJ), alongside its joint-Chambers Paralliance partners, invite its members to hear from Mr. Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), as well as Mr. Craig Spence, IPC Chief Brand & Communications Officer, and Mr. Yasushi Yamawaki, IPC Governing Board Member at Large and President of the Japanese Paralympic Committee.

August 24 (Monday), 20:00 will mark exactly one year to go until the start of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in 2021. Mr. Parsons, Mr. Spence, and Mr. Yamawaki will speak on renewed expectations, principles for re-planning and what lies ahead for the postponed games. The panel will also speak on the Inclusion Summit, a natural extension of the current IPC activities that focuses on inclusion and accessibility from a community, sport, and labor perspective. Following which, our speakers will engage in a short discussion followed by a Q&A session opened up to members of the Paralliance.

This inaugural event will also serve as a great opportunity to introduce the Paralliance’s mission: supporting Japan’s delivery of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, fostering a legacy of more inclusive communities, and embracing opportunities for international business and exchange!
