We are pleased to invite you to our June Luncheon with Ms. Ayuko Nemoto (Partner, Sonderhoff & Einsel Law and Patent Office) and Mr. Grant Tanabe (Foreign Law Counsel, Sonderhoff & Einsel Law and Patent Office), who will deliver a speech titled “Workplace Harassment in a Digital Era: How Can You Help Your Company Prevent and Deal with Harassment in the Workplace?”.

Due to COVID-19, workstyles have changed in Japan with employees working remotely, and although many employees have returned to the workplace, a substantial number of employees continue to work from home. While some may think that not working at the office would result in less harassment cases, unfortunately, harassment continues and has just taken a different form, which the Japanese have termed “remohara” or “remote harassment”. Also, workplace harassment, whether remote or at the office, can consist of power, sexual, and/or maternity harassment.

In addition to explaining the general legal bases for power, sexual, and maternity harassment claims, Ms. Ayuko Nemoto and Mr. Grant Tanabe (Sonderhoff & Einsel Law and Patent Office) will provide you with concrete measures that your company can take to effectively prevent, detect, and resolve any harassment issues.
