EU Chambers Joint Luncheon: Ms. Yuriko Koike, Tokyo Governor

As Tokyo recently kicked off the countdown to the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are pleased to invite you to a luncheon with Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike who will share with us her plans for the capital ahead of the Games, and her visions on making the city a global hub post-2020.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in cooperation with the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, is currently collecting outdated and broken cell phones and some small electronic devices to be recycled into the medals that will be awarded to athletes at the Tokyo 2020 games. TMG’s aim is to produce around 5,000 medals through what is called the “urban mine”. A Tokyo 2020 Medal Project collection box will be made available on the day of the event at the reception desk. We encourage visitors to bring any unwanted cellphones and smartphones for donation. We appreciate your support!
