We are pleased to invite you to our December Luncheon with Mr. Marco Ammann (Area Manager Japan, Sika Ltd.) who will deliver a speech titled “M&A Challenges in a COVID-19 Environment”.
The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted businesses across the world. Global players like Sika are constantly challenged when pursuing their strategic goals. With all the challenges the pandemic brings with it, Sika Group has continued its M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) activities by adapting and further empowering its local management. In his presentation for the SCCIJ, Mr. Ammann will discuss some of the challenges a company faces in an acquisition project when the obvious is not anymore given and new ways have to be discovered.

Biography of the Speaker:
Mr. Marco Ammann is Area Manager Japan at Sika Ltd. His first steps as a businessman were taken in 1991 in Japan, where he moved from Switzerland via the scholarship program administered by the Swiss-Japanese Chamber of Commerce. Following an internship at Toyota, he went on to build a 30-year career with extensive experience in industry/automotive and in construction. After a first 14-year tenure at Sika both in Switzerland and Japan, Mr. Ammann successively became General Manager of Hilti Group Japan in 2008 and Atlas Copco in 2015, undertaking various challenges such as establishing a photovoltaic business as a racking supplier, expanding sales channels into the tool rental market, reinforcing engineering capability to tackle high-end anchor specification businesses, or leading a key account organization for assembly and application fastening systems. Most recently, in 2020, he rejoined Sika to assume his current regional role. He is presently working on strategic business and organizational transformation, as well as managing the 100MCHF+ acquisition of Hamatite, the adhesives business of The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. Mr. Ammann holds an Executive MBA from Temple University.
